While all three Lakers guards were out, Kendall Marshall filled in and put together an impressive slate of performances. He averages 10.5 points, 9.6 assists and shoots 45.5 percent from the 3-point line, after entering the NBA with his outside shooting as the most obvious weakness in his game.

Problem is, the limited Lakers have struggled. Kobe Bryant remains out and Pau Gasol, who has trade interest from the Phoenix Suns, recently went down with a strained groin. Neither players will travel with the Lakers on their three-game road trip.
