Indiana on Monday announced it has dismissed sophomore forward Emmitt Holt. Incoming freshman forward Thomas Bryant is to remain with the team but will be disciplined internally, the school said.

Holt, 19, is being let go for “demonstrating exceptionally poor judgment” when he and Bryant were cited for illegal alcohol possession in the early morning hours of Aug. 21. Indiana also cited a prior mishap from Holt last year when he was driving a vehicle that accidentally struck teammate Devin Davis, which “should have motivated him to make better decisions.”

Holt averaged 3.6 points and 3 rebounds per game last season.

Bryant, 18, is a top recruit out of Rochester, N.Y.
