Bengaluru FC retain Sunil Chhetri and Udanta Singh A product of the Pune FC academy, Singh made his first foray into the ISL with Atletico de Kolkata in 2015 where six clean sheets then earned him a bigger I-League contract with Bengaluru FC, initially on loan in 2016. However, he made that move permanent at the end of a successful 2016 I-League season with Singh being adjudged the best goalkeeper, keeping nine clean sheets. The Punjab-born also started the 2016 AFC Cup final against Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya as Bengaluru FC ended runners-up, losing to the Iraqi club 1-0. The 6ft 1inch ‘keeper was a part of India U-23’s squad for the 2014 Asian Games in Incheon, South Korea. However, he is still uncapped at the senior level but has been a part of Stephen Constantine’s plans for the past 18 months. Mumbai City FC is expected to announce either of Sehnaj Singh or Pronay Halder as their second retained player before the draft next month. The 2017-18 edition of the ISL will be a ten-team affair and will run through November until March next year.
