GAME PREVIEW

Mohun Bagan will be desperate for three points against the South Indian side at home on Tuesday as they are currently struggling at the fifth position in the league table. They were held to three consecutive draws by Shillong Lajong, NEROCA and Indian Arrows in their previous three I-League matches.

They are four points behind league leaders and rivals East Bengal, thus any other result other than a win will leave them further behind in the title race.

Sanjoy Sen’s side will once again miss the service of star player Sony Norde who is yet to recover from his knee injury. Midfielder Yuta Kinowaki and defender Arijit Bagui who suffered injuries against Churchill Brothers will once again be out of action against Chennai City FC.

In this do-or-die encounter against Chennai City, the Kolkata giants will heavily bank on strikers Dipanda Dicka and Ansumana Kromah for the goals. Also, the backline needs to deliver tomorrow. Out of the four draws, Bagan were ahead by a goal initially but conceded later to drop points. The team seriously need to focus more on the defensive organisation.

Chennai too are lingering at the bottom half of the table at the moment with just four points from six matches. They suffered a loss in their previous games against East Bengal at home but the only positive thing from that match was that they scored one goal after conceding two initially.

V. Soundararajan’s side will be eyeing at least a point from tomorrow’s fixture, while the home team will settle for nothing less than three points.
