The SiriusXM host, 68, slammed the former President of the United States, 76, during a scathing rant on Tuesday’s episode of The Howard Stern Show.

“The people I’m sick of the most are the people who buy into him and defend his bulls***,” he said. “I mean, my God in Heaven, I feel like I’m in a nation of nincompoops.”

“I’m hoping there are still some more brilliant, bright, vibrant people who love this country.”

Stern revealed he recently interviewed his late father, Ben Stern, for a documentary he’s making for his children and asked him, “Why did your ancestors come over to this country? What was it?”

“The answer was freedom,” the author told listeners. “Freedom.”

“I feel like the people in this country who support all this nonsense and lies about the election and all the conspiracy theories, they have never lived under a dictator,” he explained, noting, “Their freedoms have never really been threatened.”

“They have no idea what it would be like to live under a different type of system other than democracy, and they don’t get it. They think somehow that the world would be better under a guy like Trump, like he would take care of them better.”

“The public is stupid. People are just dumb,” Stern continued.

Stern added that he wished Trump’s supporters would “go live in Russia” for “a year” under “monster” and “f***nut” Vladimir Putin.

“We only get one shot at this planet, and [Putin] has destroyed the lives of innocent people in Ukraine—mothers, children, fathers, people who were working and enjoying their lives.”

“He’s made people miserable,” Stern said of the Russian president. “For what, I don’t know.”

Newsweek has reached out to Stern’s representative for additional comment.

On February 24, Russia invaded Ukraine unleashing the largest war in Europe since World War II. According to the United Nations, millions of people have fled their homes due to the war.

Stern said he considers himself to be “somewhat of a Republican” but a “normal” one. Over the years, he’s been a strong opponent of Trump and is now considering running against him in the 2024 election.

“The problem with most presidents is they have too big of an agenda,” Stern said on his radio show in June. “The only agenda I would have is to make the country fair again.”

The comedian previously attempted to run for New York governor in 1994 but had to withdraw after refusing to disclose his personal finances.

“I’m not f*ing around, I’m really thinking about,” he continued, before adding, “I’ll beat his a.”
